Community Seniors Mental Health & Behavioural Support Services
Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO) enhances services for older individuals living with responsive behaviours due to dementia, mental health needs, addictions, and other neurological disorders.
Providence Care is the designated provider of Behavioural Support Services (BSS) in the South East LHIN, which includes the community-based services of Geriatric Psychiatry Outreach and Psychogeriatric Resource Consultants.
BSS Mobile Response teams provide around the clock support as required to residents and staff in long-term care homes throughout southeastern Ontario.
Geriatric Psychiatry Outreach teams continue to provide specialized assessment and consultation for people living in long-term care homes, retirement homes, hospital, or their own homes.
Psychogeriatric Resource Consultants support staff across the continuum of care through consultation and education.
The integrated services of Geriatric Psychiatry Outreach, Psychogeriatric Resource Consultants, and Mobile Response Teams work collaboratively to enhance the quality of life for the older person living with mental health needs and support for their caregivers.
The BSS serves clients in Leeds, Grenville & Lanark, Frontenac, Kingston, Lennox & Addington and Hastings and Prince Edward County.
