Located in Kingston and its surrounding communities, Providence Care Centre (operating as ‘Providence Care’) is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and sponsored by the Catholic Health Corporation of Ontario.
Providence Care is a major teaching and research centre for Queen’s University, an educational partner to St. Lawrence College and other post-secondary institutions, and is also a member of the Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario.
Providence Care operates a long-term care home (Providence Manor) and several community-based rehabilitation and mental health services across southeastern Ontario.
Providence Care also operates two public hospital sites in Kingston (St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital and Mental Health Services). In 2017, the care and services provided at these hospitals will move to the new Providence Care Hospital, which is currently under construction.
In order to provide the best care possible, Providence Care works with many health organizations and academic institutions across Ontario.
Providence Care’s Mission is to enhance quality of life by meeting the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each person.
